We work with conservation architects to bring the unparalleled physical qualities and the workability of Valentia Slate into heritage buildings and structures:

Roofs: we replace degraded roof tiles with CE-marked Valentia Slate roof tiles which are stronger and less prone to chemical degradation from the elements and air pollution than any other roof tile on the market.

Use as modern structural interventions: we suggest the use of Valentia Slate as replacement for degraded original load bearing elements in the fabric of heritage structures. These could include for example its use as a replacement for wooden lintels, as a more appropriate replacement than a reinforced concrete beam, where wood is not specified. This allows the new intervention to be left exposed and fully preserves the legibility of the works. We will supply independent test results, CE marking and an Environmental Product Declaration for the material.

Timeless high quality modern flooring: The strength, wearing qualities, low porosity and appearance of Valentia Slate tiles makes them very suitable for use in heritage projects. We will supply independent test results for slip resistance that show a very good performance in this regard.
